South Western Railway initiative: Reach Bengaluru half an hour early by train
The Mysuru-Kacheguda train too will run faster by 30 minutes from Thursday, and reach Bengaluru in two hours and 25 minutes.
Mysuru: With the South Western Railway ensuring that eight trains in the Mysuru-Bengaluru section run faster from Thursday, and one train on Wednesday, passengers on the route can look forward to saving upto 30 minutes in travel time. In more good news for them, SWR is expected to speed up two more trains from Friday.
Senior operations manager of SWR Satish said scientific time- tabling and optimum utilisation of physical infrastructure at terminal stations, had helped it achieve faster rail travel between Bengaluru and Mysuru. The move is expected to benefit both daily commuters and tourists.
As of Thursday, the Mysuru-Jaipur train will run faster by 10 minutes in the Mysuru-Bengaluru section, reaching Bengaluru in two hours and 15 minutes as against two hours and 25 minutes. Under the revised time table, it will depart from Mysuru at 10.40 am and reach Bengaluru at 12.55 pm.
The Mysuru-Kacheguda train too will run faster by 30 minutes from Thursday, and reach Bengaluru in two hours and 25 minutes as against two hours and 55 minutes in the past. It will leave Mysuru at 3.15pm and reach Bengaluru by 5.40 pm.
The Mysuru-Solapur train will gain 15 minutes from Thursday, reaching Bengaluru in two hours and 45 minutes as against three hours in the past. It will leave Mysuru at 3.45pm and reach Bengaluru at 6.30 pm The Mysuru-Mayiladuturai train will run faster by five minutes, the Mysuru-Tuticorn train by 15 minutes and the Chamarajnagar- Tirupathi train by 10 minutes.
