A potboiler of sex, threats, blackmail and politics
Sources claimed Meti had a regular sexual relationship with that lady who is an employee at Bagalkote's ayurvedic college.
Ballari: The alleged CD showing former excise minister HY Meti in a compromising position with a woman from Bagalkote, reached Ballari-based RTI activist Mr Rajashekhar Mulali through none other than the minister's police gunman Subhash Mugalkod, according to highly placed sources. They claimed Meti had a regular sexual relationship with that lady who is an employee at Bagalkote’s ayurvedic college.
According to top sources, Mr Subhash who had been observing this illicit relationship had captured the sexual act of the minister last month at the district in-charge minister's chamber in Bagalkote City Municipality premises. Mr Subhash, according to sources, initially tried to blackmail the minister over this alleged sex tape, however, he was not successful. He and his family members who belong to the community of the minister, were threatened with dire consequences by the minister's supporters who took away his mobile phone and handed it over to Mr Meti.
However, by that time Mr Subhash has made copies of this sex tape and kept it with him. At this point, through a common Facebook friend, Mr Subhash contacted Mr Rajashekhar Mulali to strike a deal with the minister. The supporters of the minister came to know that Mr Mulali was likely to release it to the media and reportedly started following Mr. Mulali for a week. On December 8, they stopped Mr Mulali in Ballari and offered him money and also threatened him with dire consequences if he released the CD.
Mr Mulali filed a complaint with the local police station seeking protection Sunday night. Meanwhile, Mr Subhash who was under threat from the minister's supporters contacted Mr Mulali over phone requesting him not to release the CD. Sources said the advisor to the Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar, Mr Kempaiah too reportedly pressurised Mr Mulali not to release the CD to the media. In Bagalkot, supporters of the minister got the woman to address a press conference pleading her innocence.
With the government and KPCC not responding to his plea to remove Meti from the cabinet, Mulali on Wednesday morning released the sex tape to the media.
