SSLC examination to be held from March 23 to April 6

BENGALURU: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) on Thursday announced the final timetable for SSLC exams scheduled to be held in March/April 2018, which will be held from March 23 to April 6.

According to the timetable, exams will be held in two sessions with the majority of them falling in the forenoon session (9.30 am to 12.30 pm), while the rest will take place in the afternoon session (2 pm to 5.15 pm).

The timetable is as follows: March 23 – First Language (Kannada/Telugu/ Hindi/Marathi/Tamil/Urdu/English/Sanskrit); March 26 – Mathematics; March 28 – Second Language (English/Kannada); April 2 – Science; April 4 –Third Language (Hindi/Kannada/English/Arabic/Urdu/Sanskrit/Konkani/Tulu) and April 6 – Social Science.

While the papers for first language, Maths, Science and Social Science will be of the duration 2 hours and 45 minutes, candidates will get 2 hours and 15 minutes to answer second and third language papers.

Students who are visually impaired and those with learning disabilities will be provided an extra hour for all papers.

Exams for NSQF subjects such as IT, Retail, Automobile, Healthcare, Beauty & Wellness will be of the duration two hours and is scheduled to be held on April 4. Students will be given 15 minutes reading time at the beginning of all exams.

Orals and practical exams for students under the Junior Technical School (JTS) category will be conducted at their respective examination centers on April 7.

Over 8 lakh students from across the state are expected to appear for this year’s SSLC examinations. Last year, the exams were held from March 30 to April 12.
