Visakhapatnam: ABVP activists on Monday staged a protest in the city against the JNU students who allegedly raised anti-India slogans and condemned the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. The activists burnt effigies of JNU student leaders and demanded action against students involved in ‘anti-national activities’. ABVP leader Mr Manikanta said that citizens of this country should not tolerate those who insult mother India and try to split the people on communal lines.
“Some vested forces are trying to create disorder in the country by instigating the students on religious and regional lines. We, as members of the ABVP, will not tolerate this. We demand the government to take strict action against those who involved in anti-national acts,” Mr Manikanta said. Another leader, Avinash said that the government should check whether terrorist outfits are involved in propagating their ideology in universities. “Those who target our country’s unity and integrity should not be spared and we demand the government to take actions at the earliest,” Mr Avinash said.
