Bengaluru: Padmanabhanagar flyover thrown open
Siddaramaiah said that the flyover should ease the movement of traffic in South Bengaluru and help motorists.
Bengaluru: The much-delayed Rani Chennamma flyover at the Padmanabhanagar at Outer Ring Road (ORR) was officially thrown open to the public on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the flyover, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the flyover should ease the movement of traffic in South Bengaluru and help motorists, especially those living around the Deve Gowda petrol bunk and Padmanabhanagar. The flyover will ease about 68 per cent of the congestion and provides connectivity between Mysore Road and Kanakapura Road. It has been completed at a cost of Rs 35.8 crore.
Five more flyovers and underpasses are being constructed along the ORR. Upon completion of these flyovers at the KEB Junction, Muthuraj Junction, near Foodworld, Dalmia Junction and JD Mara (Bannerghatta) Junction, the stretch from the Central Silk Board Junction to Mysore Road will become a signal-free stretch, he said.
