Vijayawada: CPM state secretary P. Madhu alleged that the Telugu Desam government was trying to stop the fourth and fifth instalments of the agriculture loan waiver scheme to farmers and demanded that the TD government clear the installments immediately.

Addressing a press meet at Vijayawada, he alleged that ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’ was an election sop and after offering this new scheme, the TD government was trying to stop payments of the pending loan waiver installments cheating Andhra farmers.

Mr Madhu said that AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu deceived DWCRA women, the unemployed, farmers and other weaker sections of the society and hence the public were up in arms against the TD government.

He said that in the last election manifesto, TD made nearly 600 promises and was now also making promises before the elections. He demanded clearance of all dues of the loan waiver scheme and other schemes and demanded clearing of all the dues. He further demanded that the State government increase the amount to Rs 25,000 from the present Rs 10,000 for the Annadata Sukhibhava welfare scheme to help the amount to be used as an investment for crops.
