Hyderabad: 2 killed, after lorry rams into van

Hyderabad: Two persons were killed and 15 others suffered injuries when their van was hit by a lorry from the rear at Turkapally in Shameerpet on Friday morning.

The victims were returning to the city after attending a marriage at a village in Gajwel.

At about 3.30 am, the van carrying around 40 headed towards Suraram Colony in Jeedimetla.

When it reached the internal ring road at Turkapally in Shamirpet, a speeding lorry (AP 07 TH 6769) rammed into their van.

Shamirpet police identified the victims as Erra Srinivas of Singoor village and Raju of Suraram. The 15 injured were shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

Lorry driver M. Srinivas has been taken into custody and a case has been booked against him under Section 304 A of IPC, said the police.
