Week after wedding, couple killed in road mishap in Krishnagiri
They were married on February 9 and went to their relatives'place in Bengaluru of neighboring Karnataka, two days ago.
Krishngairi: A newlywed couple returning home from their relatives’place died in a mishap that took place in the early hours of Friday. The couple, who died on the seventh day after their wedding was identified as 23-year-old M. Rahman Hammad of Vaniambadi town in Vellore district and his 21-year-old wife Jihaana Mashin. They were married on February 9 and went to their relatives’place in Bengaluru of neighboring Karnataka, two days ago.
On Thursday night, the couple was returning home in a car which met with the accident in the early hours of Friday at a place close to Chinna Bargur, here on the Chennai-Bengaluru national highway.
Rahman who was in the driver's seat was initially saved with critical injuries by rescuers but declared as brought dead by doctors in the Krishnagiri government hospital. His wife died on the spot.
Investigation revealed that the driver lost control of the car and it hit the road divider, jumped the lane and stopped after hitting a Bengaluru-bound container truck from Chennai.
Bargur police registered a case and further probe is on.
