CPI MLA BIjimol withdraws anticipatory bail plea

Kochi: A day after Kerala High Court criticised the police for not arresting CPI MLA BijiMol the politician on Tuesday withdrew her application for anticipatory bail in the controversial ADM assault case.

She is the first accused in the ADM assault case. When the case came up for hearing before Justice Sunil Thomas in the morning session senior counsel Ranjtih Thampan appearing for Biji Mol expressed her desire to withdraw the plea.  The court subsequently recorded the submission and dismissed it as 'not pressed'.

On Monday a single bench had heavily criticised the police for not arresting Biji Mol MLA and had asked State Police Chief to look into the matter. Justice B Kemal Pasha criticised the police on a plea filed by Idukki ADM Moncy P Alexander seeking Crime Branch to complete the investigation expeditiously and to submit the final report before the court. Bijimol allegedly attacked the ADM on July 4, 2015.
