KOCHI: The call detail records (CDR) available with the Solar Commission on Tuesday revealed that KPCC general secretary Thampanoor Ravi had spoken to key accused in the solar scam Saritha S Nair 513 times over phone contrary to his earlier claims. These calls were made to and from the three mobiles used by Saritha after she was released from jail, in the period from February 16, 2015 to January 26, 2016.

Justice G Sivarajan who heads the commission revealed this when Thampanoor Ravi deposed before the commission on Tuesday that he had neither spoken over phone nor met Saritha.

Ravi, however, tried to justify his stand saying that he was a public servant and Saritha would have called him instead of him calling Saritha. “I attend all calls and if I am not able to attend a call, I make a return call. I have never given any help to Saritha who asked me to prevent certain Congress leaders from making disparaging remarks against her in the television channels,” he said.

His another claim of not talking directly or over phone to Saritha’s advocate too was rejected by the Commission with the support of the CDR containing 16 calls. When he said that he was not personally close to CM’s aide Tenny Joppan, the Commission showed him the CDR containing 123 phone calls.
