Young men should protect women, says Kiran Bedi
Men should be angrier than women because the entire male race is seen as suspects, says Bedi.
Chennai: Calling students to take up the community leadership role, Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi said, “Young men should take the lead role in preventing crime against women.”
While participating at the university day and annual sports day celebrations in VIT’s Chennai campus on Wednesday, she said, “The university campuses and people in the town need to come together and say they will not tolerate such crimes.”
“TN also has had this problem. Men should be angrier than women because the entire male race is seen as suspects. The students to play an active role as campus security provider rather than the suspects,” she said. She also urged the students to take away good values along with the ‘valuables’ like job offers from the universities.
