Rs 600 crore given to Hyderabad metro rail project
An amount of Rs 200 crore was granted for the present Hyderabad Metro Rail project being executed by L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail.
Hyderabad: The TS Budget made an allocation of Rs 600 crore for the Metro Rail project. An amount of Rs 200 crore was granted for the present Hyderabad Metro Rail project being executed by L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail.
Metro managing director N.V.S. Reddy said, “The amount will be used for urban landscaping, creating better facilities and also improving the infrastructure at end points. The Old City alignment works will also be carried out.”
Land acquisition process would be carried out by HMR and it was expecting this budgeted amount to help it expedite works. The Metro Rail route till Airport had got '400 crore which would help plan, acquire land and also push forward the stretch to be taken up in the next phase.
The Budget sanction showed the Government was keen on developing Metro rail which would be the future mode of transport.
