Pinarayi VIjayan's private secretary MV Jayarajan to get jr officer's salary

The special private secretary will draw salary as per the Kerala Service Rules, Part III, Rule 100- Revision of Re-employment Pay.

Kochi: The government has fixed the salary scale of Chief Minister Pinarayi VIjayan’s private secretary M.V. Jayarajan and his additional private secretary P.P. Aboobacker to be Rs 77,400-1,15,200, which an all-India service officer in junior timescale draws.

A Government Order to this effect has been issued by the additional secretary to the general administration department on April 7, 2017.

The two posts along with that of A. Rajesekharan Nair, who has been appointed as special private secretary, will be co-terminus with that of the chief minister, the order said.

The special private secretary will draw salary as per the Kerala Service Rules, Part III, Rule 100- Revision of Re-employment Pay.

Mr Jayarajan had relinquished the post of chairman of Kerala State Lottery Workers Welfare Fund Board and took over as the private secretary to Mr Vijayan reportedly to ease the pressure on the chief minister. At present, CPM state committee member Puthalath Dinesan functions as the the political secretary to the Chief Minister.  

The Chief Minister has as advisers Prabha Varma (press), M.C. Dathan (scientific adviser), Dr. N. K. Jayakumar (law), C.S. Renjit (development), Gita Gopinath (finance) and John Brittas (media).
