Dwaraka Tirimula, known as China Tirupati set for mega fete
Celestial wedding of Lord Venkateswara to be held on May 20.
Dwaraka tirumala: The weeklong Brahmotsvams in Vysakha Masa (Telugu Month) of Durmukhi (Telugu Year) will start at Dwaraka Tirimula, known as China Tirupathi, the abode of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy in West Godavari from Monday.
Lord Venkateswara Swamy and his consorts Mangatayaru and Andal Padmavathi Ammavaru will be prepared for the celestial wedding as mark of the beginning of the festival lasting up to May 23.
Celestial wedding will be celebrated on May 20 and chariot festival on May 21.
According to Temple Executive Officer V. Trinadha Rao, elaborate arrangements were being made for the smooth conduct of the festival.
Meanwhile, the temple authorities led by its Chairman S.V. Sudhakara Rao and Executive Officer V. Trinadha Rao, constructed guest houses for the pilgrims and made all arrangements at Kalyana Mandapams, Kalyanakatta, Aniveti Mandapam, Cow Protection Hall, Central Stores and bathing ghats.
For providing these amenities, the temple has acquired 123 acres of land.
The officials say that the development activities which have been taken up at a cost of Rs 48 crore last year will be completed soon. An 80 feet ghat road has been developed for easy transportation of the pilgrims.
The statues of Garutmantha and Lord Anjaneya and the temple history depicted on sculpture arts and others were made at a cost of Rs 25 lakhs. Meanwhile, the devotees of Lord Venkateswara Swamy, Velagaleti Durgadevi and Satyavathi of Guntur district presented 113 grams gold ornaments to the temple in memory of their mother Adilakshmi at a cost of Rs 3.50 lakh.
They also donated a six seat capacity of battery car worth Rs 4.50 lakh to carry elder and disabled pilgrims to the temple.
