Mathura: A 34-year-old man allegedly committed suicide on Monday after pushing his two children in front a train near highway area of Mathura district.

Hemant Singh, a plumber from Sadar Bazar in Agra, pushed 6-year-old son Gokulesh and 4-year-old daughter Payal in front of the train near Bajna bridge that falls under Highway Police Station and then jumped himself before the train, police said.

A suicide note holding in-laws responsible for the extreme step was found. "His wife Renu Devi had strangulated herself seven months earlier. He was under mental strain since then, as his in-laws had filed a police report alleging the demise as dowry death, SSP Rakesh Singh said.
