Telangana: Expat killed in Bahrain

Hyderabad: Guvvala Mallesh, 42, went to Bahrain to clear debts. He was working for a garbage firm in Bahrain when he met with an accident and died. His family said that Mallesh cleared their debts but now they have to borrow to get his body home.
TPCC Gulf Cell Convenor Nangi Devender Reddy uploaded Mallesh’s on Madad and is pursuing his case with the Indian embassy. Mallesh is survived by wife Nagamani, who makes beedies, son Kranthi Kumar, who completed Intermediate I year and younger son Teja, who completed Class VIII.
Mallesh, hailing from Hussainnagar village, went to Bahrain 10 years ago to work as a driver. Four years ago he joined Al-aliya as a JCB operator. The company was into garbage clearing.
On Sunday while he was on the JCB the vehicle got stuck in the garbage. He got down and came near the rear tyres to stuff supports under them. Meanwhile the driver of another tipper drove over him. Mallesh died on the spot. His friends gave the information to Mr Devender, who informed his family. He demanded Rs 5 lakh as compensation for Mallesh's family, as the family has lost its bread winner. "As incidents of Gulf expats dying have become common a fund should be set up for them," Mr Devender said.
