Deposit funds before 25th May, M M Hassan to DDCs

A seminar on the challenges faced by democracy and secularism will be held at KPCC and DCC offices and booth committees.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC president M. M. Hassan has asked the mandalm committees to deposit the  funds collected during his recent Janamochana Yatra  by   May 25.  Earlier, he had given them a  deadline of  May 10.   Mr Hassan warned the  DDC presidents during a meeting held at Indira Bhavan here on Tuesday that  they would be held responsible if the  mandalam committees failed  to deposit the  funds by May 25.

"Nearly Rs 15 crore was collected during the  Janamochana Yatra. Fifty  percent of the funds collected from each district would be provided to the respective DCCs,”  said Mr Hassan. KPCC treasurer Johnson Abraham submitted the accounts. The meeting also decided to hold a slew of party programmes at the level of KPCC, DCC and booth committee.

The 28th death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi would be commemorated as Sadbhavana Day when  all the 14 DCCs will hold seminars against violence and separatism. On May 27, Save Democracy Day will be observed on the occasion of the 55th death anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru. A seminar on the challenges faced by democracy and secularism will be held at KPCC and  DCC offices  and booth committees.
