Hyderabad: A 24-year-old PhD scholar of Nallakunta was found dead in a lodge here.
The victim was identified as K. Srinivas, who was pursuing his PhD from Indian Institute of Science Education Research in Pune and had come home a month back. Police said he was suffering from depression for the past one year.
Srinivas left his home on Friday afternoon saying that he was going to meet his friends. He never returned. On Sunday, when foul smell started emanating from the room in the lodge, the staff alerted the police. The police broke open the door and found Srinivas dead inside.
Police recovered seven insulin syringes from the room, leading to suspicion that he killed himself with an overdose of insulin.
