Bhopal: A father in a Madhya Pradesh village on Tuesday took every one including his son by pleasant surprise when he threw a party to celebrate the failure of his son in this year’s class ten board examination, result of which were declared on Monday.

Surendra Kumar Vyas, 55, resident of Tili village under Sagar district, hugged his son Anshu and then offered sweets to him when the latter gave him the bad news that he has failed in the examination.

Mr Vyas, a civil contractor, then arranged an impromptu party in which his friends and his son’s classmates besides their relations were invited. The guests were treated with sweets and music orchestra.

“My son worked hard to do well in the examination but failed,” he told the invitees. “I have thrown the party to motivate him to move on and not to take the failure seriously.

“I would like to tell students who failed, and their parents,  that the board examination is not the last examination. Life is full of opportunities,” he said. Anshu said the party motivated to do well in the next year’s examination.
