Lucknow: A helicopter carrying UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to Kasganj  was forced to land on a field instead of the helipad made in a school compound on Tuesday.

The chopper was scheduled to land on the grounds of the Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, but was forced to land on a field a kilometer away because of technical problems.

As per reports, the helipad was surrounded by trees which created obstruction for the landing of the chopper.

Principal home secretary Arvind Kumar said the chief minister was safe and had proceeded to attend his scheduled programmes.

He was in Kasganj to meet the family whose three members had been murdered on Friday by robbers.

Meanwhile, the district administration has ordered an inquiry into the construction of the makeshift helipad and the technical glitches that forced the pilot to land the chopper on the fields.
