Kuduos to the Forest department which in coordination with the district administration and Tourism department here organised the expo with meticulous planning to source the razzle-dazzle photos of the wild animals, aves, flora, medicinal plants  man-animal conflicts, tribal culture and the landscape beauty of the Nilgiris.

The section-wise depiction of wildlife helps one take lessons on the wealth of animal kingdom, habit and habitats of different animals in the Nilgiris and the rich tribal culture spread across the hills.

Forest sources said that the objective of this exhibition is to introduce the tourists to the beauty of the forest, wild life, landscape in remote areas and wildlife habitats, as such things are not easily accessible for all tourists to relish and cherish.

This would help create awareness to tune in their minds towards nature conservation and appreciate the grandeur of nature in the hill, they said.

While V. Mathimaran’s stills on man-animal conflict exhibits the risks associated hard work behind the lens, the exhibits of the medicinal plants of Dr S. Rajan, field botanist at Central Ayush wing, have come as an added gift to enrich knowledge about the wealth of flora in Nilgiris.

The section on avian wealth showcases the elegance of the native birds, winter visitors and domestic migrants to the Nilgiris.
