Crowds are thronging the commodity and vegetable markets in the district during the lockdown relaxation period
ADILABAD: Many people in various towns of old Adilabad district are flouting Coronavirus guidelines during the lockdown relaxation time from 6 am to 10 am and even beyond. This is mainly because authorities are not enforcing the stipulated guidelines of wearing masks and maintaining social distance. This defeats the very purpose of imposing the lockdown itself.
Crowds are thronging the commodity and vegetable markets in the district during the lockdown relaxation period and jostling with one another while making purchases. Most of the people seen are not wearing masks or maintaining any social distancing.
Further, authorities have placed no mechanism in place to control crowds or ensure that people are disciplined and follow the stipulated Covid-19 norms. No policemen are seen enforcing the rules in markets, though they are found stationed at key points.
Consumer experts suggest that it would be good if officials identify some shops and markets within the colonies that could remain open. This would avoid mass gatherings during the lockdown relaxation time.
