Amaravati: AgriGold victims try to barge into Haailand theme park

Victims to stage protest on July 15 in front of CM's house.

AMARAVATI: The angry victims of AgriGold squatted on the Vijayawada-Chennai National Highway which stopped traffic and the police dispersed the agitators at Acharya Nagarjuna University. The police slightly caned the protesters when they tried to barge into Haailand theme park at China Kakani. AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association honorary president M. Nageswara Rao and other leaders claimed that the AgriGold purchased all its assets by spending the customers’ money. So the assets belong to the victims. They announced that a protest will be held on July 15 under which victims will gherao the house of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu seeking justice.

The AgriGold victims meeting was held opposite the Bible Mission ground in front of the ANU beside Vijayawada-Chennai National Highway. After completion of the meeting, the victims ran on to the road and proceeded to AgriGold-run Haailand. The management closed the Haailand and put a board in front of the of the theme park and the police installed a picket. The angry victims tried to barge into the Haailand forcibly but the police did not allow them.

Heated arguments took place between the policemen and the victims and finally the police dispersed the victims. Later, the victims called off the protests with the leaders of various political parties.
