Kochi: A probe is on into the goof-up at the Cochin international airport involving a passenger coming from Dammam in Saudi Arabia by a Jet Airways flight who strayed into the domestic terminal.

The airport company CIAL and CISF officials are aghast over the development and have launched the probe.

The incident took place on June 14 and the lapse came to light when the passenger inquired about a delay in delivering his baggage. The CISF officials who identified the error immediately redirected him to the international terminal.

The incident is understood to have happened due to the ignorance of the passenger and a lapse on the part of the ground handling agency. Officials said that he was cleared after customs and immigration checks.

A similar incident was reported from the airport last June when 44 passengers flown in from Sharjah landed in the domestic terminal.
