Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Telangana up to June 17.
Hyderabad: The city experienced moderate to heavy rain on Thursday, ranging from 7 cm in Bandlaguda to 2 cm in Miralam. Malkajgiri and Viratnagar in Saroornagar reported 1 cm of rainfall.
Light showers were recorded in Madhapur, Asifnagar, Srinagar colony, Musheerabad, Golconda, Amberpet, Tirmulgiri, Begumpet, Balanagar, Nampally, and Narayanguda.
The south-west monsoon has been active over Telangana due to a cyclonic circulation prevailing over south coastal Odisha and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh. Also, a trough is extending from this system up to South Konkan and Goa.
The weather forecast for the next few days is moderate showers over several parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad, accompanied by squally winds and thunderstorm.
As the system will continue to persist over the region, more spells of light to moderate showers with strong winds are likely on Friday as well. As the monsoon approaches, day temperatures will dip and the weather will be more comfortable for the next two to three days.
Warning: Heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Telangana up to June 17.
