Cops get challan for not wearing helmet on Friday

They were captured near Lalithanagar community hall at Nallakunta.

Hyderabad: Two policemen whose photos were clicked by Deccan Chronicle photographers for riding without a helmet on Friday, were issued an e-challan. 

They were captured near Lalithanagar community hall at Nallakunta. Reportedly, the constable belongs to East Zone area and an e-challan was issued against Venkateshwarlu Mellachervu for not riding without wearing a helmet.  

The vehicle bearing a registeration number AP 24 Q 9869 has received as many as three e-challans just in the last three days for driving without a helmet. 

These three challans were issued at Amberpet T junction, Tilak Nagar cross road and Hanuman Temple.

According to senior traffic officials, The Commissioner of Police issued orders that every officer, be it a home guard or a top level official, he/she must wear a helmet if they are travelling by bike. If any official is found violating this rule, an e-challan will be issued and the traffic officials are ensuring that this rule is strictly enforced.
