Hyderabad: Traffic Advisory for President's Visit on June-16/17

HYDERABAD: The police would be imposing traffic restrictions in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the city on June 16 and 17 for the passing out parade of the Air Force Academy, Dundigal. Restrictions will be in place from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, and 6 am to 8 am on June 17.

Police said moderate congestion and travel delay could be expected in the traffic junctions of CTO, PNT,  HPS, Greenlands, Monappa junction, VV statue, Panjagutta and NFCL Junction apart from the Begumpet flyover and Yashoda Hospital road, said Vikram Singh Mann, additional commissioner of police, law and order.

The police directed buses from Secunderabad towards Ameerpet and Mehdipatnam through Begumpet and Raj Bhavan to use alternative routes via Tank Bund from 4 pm hours to 8 pm on Friday, and 6 am to 8 am on June 17.

In case of an emergency, motorists could call the traffic helpline 9010203626, Mann said.

Police said general traffic will not be allowed on the Raj Bhavan road from Monappa junction, VV statue (Khairatabad) and on the Panjagutta-Raj Bhavan quarters road.

Traffic coming from CTO junction and Minister Road will be stopped for a while at Rasoolpura junction; vehicles from Panjagutta/Greenlands junction towards Begumpet airport will be stopped for a while at Prakashnagar T-junction.

Traffic from Kukatpally, Balanagar via Fathenagar bridge towards Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet road, will be diverted at Balkampet Yellamma temple towards Maitrivanam junction via Satyam Theatre.
