57 RTA online services to be available from August in Telangana

Hyderabad: Sparing motorists from making multiple visits to RTA offices, the Telangana Transport Department has made all its 57 types of services available online.
Earlier only 15 services were available online. IT and municipal minister K.T. Rama Rao launched the Automated Online Services (AOS) on Friday.
Motorists can book online slots for services they need from the RTA at http://www.transport.telangana.gov.in. These online services will come into effect from August 2.
“Motorists should pay the relevant fee online or at any e-Seva counter. They will get a confirmation SMS with transaction number after the application is accepted. The citizen has to then come to the RTA office with the downloaded filled-up form and transaction number and approach the relevant counter,” said transport commissioner Sandeep Kumar Sultania.
RTA offices will become paperless and cashless in terms of transactions. There would now be no need for multiple queues and waiting for long duration, added Mr Sultania.
Mr Rama Rao unveiled Mr Rido, the road safety mascot of Telangana, and released five short films on creating awareness and educating citizens on road safety like the ill effects of drunken driving.
