Vijayawada: AP health minister Kamineni Srinivas Rao inaugurated the Health Commissionerate and HOD offices of DPHFW and APVVP at Gollapudi, on Friday. Addressing the media Mr Kamineni Srinivas Rao said that the shifting of health department will start functioning from the capital region. He said the incident of baby being stolen in the Government Hospital is drastic, and the staff responsible for the incident would be suspended. The hospital has called up tenders to install new CCTV cameras and soon there would be new cameras installed in the hospital and security tags would be provided to the mother and baby, he added.

Later in a press meet held at hotel Murali Fortune, the health minister said that health department would take Krishna Pushkaralu as a prestigious project and  would arrange special wards named ‘Pushkar Padakalu’ in the government hospitals of Guntur and Vijayawada  which will be having 50 beds and one 10-bed ICU each. Separate medical camps will be organised near the Pushkar Ghats with 108 ambulances and boat ambulances during the Pushkaralu  period. Health commissioner Punam Malkondaiah, district collector Babu and municipal health authorities and other officials attended.
