Are only BJP leaders Hindus? Even I am 100 per cent Hindu, says CM Siddaramaiah
The Chief Minister said that cloud-seeding would be done in select places in the state which received very less rainfall.
Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday accused leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party of trying to divide society by playing the Hindutva card, and queried whether only BJP leaders are Hindus.
“I am 100 per cent Hindu” he told the media here adding “With elections round the corner, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are not finding any other issue, and therefore they are trying to polarise votes in the name of Hindutva”.
Reacting to Mr Pratap Simha, MP’s allegation that the state government was trying to hijack programmes of the Union government, the Chief Minister said, “It’s the state’s tax money which is going to the Centre. And the Centre gives it to us for developmental programmes. Let Mr Pratap Simha urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to waive farm loans released by public sector banks,” the Chief Minister said.
Later, at a programme organized to unveil the foundation stone of a project of the Karnataka Slum Development Board for construction of 2291 houses in KR constituency, the Chief Minister said, “the Union government has changed the names of several programmes introduced by the United Progressive Alliance government.”
