Bengaluru: Defending the new jumbo-sized team of office bearers, KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar on Saturday said a large number of office bearers are required to work for the ruling party’s success in next year’s polls to the Legislative Assembly.

He told the media here: “Yes! I should accept that by any standards this is a big committee with the AICC appointing 171 people as office bearers, including 33 women which is a good sign."

In response to a question about disappointment in a section of the party despite appointment of large number of leaders as office bearers, he retorted that the party was aware how to utilise such leaders to its advantage. “There will be umpteen number of opportunities which will be handed to such leaders," he added.

Answering another question,  Dr Parameshwar asserted that the party was conducting a survey to collect data to help in selection of candidates and decide the strategy for 2018 Assembly polls.

“The party is conducting divisional surveys and after these surveys are complete, it will organise conferences in all districts to inform people about the government's achievements,” he added.
