The real whistleblower behind Karnataka's Prisongate
The victim Ramamurthy's wife Anthara (name changed) approached Mrs. Roopa on Saturday and claimed that her husband was beaten up by the SP.
Bengaluru: In the first sign that the real whistle blower behind Karnataka's Prisongate was tracked down and punished for leaking information to DIG (Prisons) D. Roopa, a jail inmate convicted in dacoity case was allegedly beaten up black and blue by the Prisons Superintendent Krishna Kumar inside the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
The victim Ramamurthy's wife Anthara (name changed) approached Mrs. Roopa on Saturday and claimed that her husband was beaten up by the SP on allegations that he had passed on the information to the police officer.
Anthara told Deccan Chronicle that on Saturday morning when she went to the prison to meet her husband she was informed by other jail inmates that he was being beaten up by the jail SP.
"He (Krishna Kumar) has dragged my husband by holding his neck and hit him in front of other jail inmates saying that he was in constant touch with Mrs. Roopa and it was he who had passed on the information about the activities inside the jail. Other inmates who were closeby came to his rescue," Anthara claimed.
When Deccan Chronicle tried to contact SP Krishna Kumar for his reaction, he did not respond. Nor did he reply to text messages sent by DC.
