Grievance cell sought for students
A parent said, The university should constitute the grievance redressal committee to help the students.
Hyderabad: Dr NTR University of Health Sciences should constitute a grievance cell to address problems of the students, the Junior Doctor Association (JUDA), students and their parents opine.
The students and parents alleged that when they wanted to tell officials of their concerns with digital evaulation of answer scripts, they found that the university did not have a grievance redressal committee.
They said the Dr NTR University of Health Sciences Act, 1986, specifies the setting up of the grievances committee. The High Court too in Writ Petition No. 8478 of 2010 had directed the university to set up the committee to redress all grievances of students. Despite this, the university did not set up the committee.
A parent said, “The university should constitute the grievance redressal committee to help the students. The lack of a grievance cell has resulted in wastage of valuable time of the students who have to go from officer to officer to get their issues resolved.”
“When the students face any issues there is no one whom they can contact to resolve their problems. We request the university to constitute the committee as soon as possible,” he said.
