K Chandrasekhar Rao calls Cabinet meet on July 17 for New Municipal Act

The Bill will be introduced on the first day of the session, and legislators will be given a day to go through its provisions.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has called a Cabinet meeting on the evening of July 17 to discuss the new Municipal Act.

The Cabinet will meet in Pragathi Bhavan and discuss the provisions of the legislation and approve its introduction in the two-day special session of the Assembly which commences at 11 am on July 18.

The Bill will be introduced on the first day of the session, and legislators will be given a day to go through its provisions.

Sources said that the Cabinet will also discuss the municipal elections which are likely to be conducted in the first week of August.

Mr Rao wants to complete the municipal elections process in the first week of August.
