WARANGAL: The approach road to the bridge that connects Telangana and Maharashtra in Kaleshwaram was washed away due to heavy flow of flood water in the Godavari river in Mahadevpur mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Friday.
The 1.74-km bridge across the Godavari starts at Kaleshwaram in Telangana and ends at Sirnocha in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra state. The approach road begins from Sri Kaleshwara Mukteswara Swamy temple at Kaleshwaram where the three rivers - the Godavari, the Pranahita and the Sarawathi - combine.
Due to heavy inflow of water following the recent days, the water level increased at Triveni Sangamam which resulted in washing of the approach road from one side.
