Telangana: Bus driver averts mishap

The front tyre of the AC bus with 40 passengers caught fire. Seeing the smoke the driver stopped the vehicle and alerted passengers.

Nizamabad: The alert driver of a Garuda bus belonging to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) going to Hyderabad from Adilabad averted a mishap in Jakranpally mandal in Nizamabad district on Tuesday.

The front tyre of the AC bus with 40 passengers caught fire. Seeing the smoke the driver stopped the vehicle and alerted passengers. The tyre was completely damaged and burst into flames.

The passengers heaved a sigh of relief and thanked the driver for his alertness. If the incident would had occurred at night the damage could have been more. 

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, TSRTC Nizamabad divisional manager Paul Sharath Prasad said they were not aware of the incident. Hyderabad depot runs AC buses to Adilabad, he added.
