Chennai: Man found dead with throat slit

Chennai: A 28-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit in Tirvottiyur on Wednesday morning. The victim was identified as Sridhar alias Venkatesan of Sivan Nagar in New Washermanpet, a street vendor, who was involved in buying clothes and plastic products in bulk to sell them on streets.

“On Wednesday morning, passersby noticed a corpse lying in bushes near a godown on Basin Road and alerted Tiruvottiyur police,” the police said. The body was immediately retrieved and sent to Stanley government hospital for post-mortem.  The police added that the victim could have been murdered on Tuesday night. Tiruvottiyur police registered a case and investigating.
