CJ Thottathil B Radhakrishnan urges citizens to fulfil duties to nation
The Chief Justice said that during 2017, 95,894 new cases were filed in the High Court, and 62,047 were decided.
Hyderabad: Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan of the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday said that “political independence is a break through. The fruits of Independence could be attained only when India achieves the avowed goals and aspirations of this nation to ensure justice, liberty, equality and fraternity in terms of the constitutional vision and values.”
The Chief Justice was addressing the legal fraternity after hoisting the national flag to mark the 72nd Independence Day celebrations on the High Court premises.
Justice Radhakrishnan said that the progress of society in the social, economic and political spheres can be achieved only by ensuring justice in those fields.
He said that “I urge each and every individual citizen to live up to the constitutional goals and perform duties to the nation as a whole and abide by the fundamental duties so that the nation marches forward in consonance with the constitutional aspirations goals.”
Stating that he assumed the office of the Chief Justice just a month ago, Justice Radhakrish-nan mentioned about the work done by this High Court and the subordinate courts of both the states during 2017 and from January 1 to July 3, 2018.
