Power units on a roll in Telangana, says cmd D. Prabhakar Rao

Hyderabad: TS Transco and Genco CMD D. Prabhakar Rao said per capita consumption of power in Telangana state has crossed 1,500 units which is 34 per cent more than national per capita consumption of 1,122 units. He said that the reverse pumping system at Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar Hydel power stations resulted in substantial savings for the discoms.

After hoisting the National Flag on Independence Day at Vidyut Soudha on Wednesday, Mr Rao said that the TS power utilities have met the highest demand of 10,429 MW during this kharif season. On July 31, 2018, it surpassed the earlier highest demand of 10,284 MW during the Rabi season. He said that the demand is expected to increase.
