HYDERABAD: Union minister BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working to eradicate poverty in the country by 2047. “The world is looking at us. The pledge to rid the country of family rule, appeasement and corruption from politics should be taken by all,” he said

He was addressing a meeting to mark the Independence Day celebrations at the BJP party office here. Several senior BJP leaders and activists were present.

On the occasion, the BJP felicitated the parents of Captain Rapolu Veera Raja Reddy, who laid down his life during a militant attack at Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir in 2022.

Kishan Reddy said, “Telangana will be in the doldrums if KCR’s family returns to power. The BRS government is acquiring every piece of land it can find and is selling them. The Dharani portal is being used to deprive farmers of their land,” he said.

“Those who question the government are being detained. The youth are troubled by the lack of proper and timely job notifications. The universities are languishing without proper infrastructure,” Kishan Reddy said, adding, “The Congress and BRS are hand in glove. While Congress leaders used to charge commissions, the BRS leaders are taking a share of the loot. A vote for the Congress is a vote for the BRS,”

Those who participated in the celebrations included party MP Dr K. Laxman, former legislators Indrasena Reddy and N.V.S.S. Prabhakar and Premender Reddy.
