Jagan releases Rs 536 crore under YSR Kapu Nestham

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy released Rs 536.77 crore under YSR Kapu Nestham scheme to benefit 3.57 lakh women beneficiaries belonging to Kapu, Balija, Telaga and Ontari communities at a programme in Nidadavole of East Godavari on Saturday.

Addressing a large gathering, the CM stated that so far, the YSRC government has given Rs 2,029 crore to benefit nearly four lakh women, with each one of them getting Rs 60,000 in the last four years.

Likewise, he said, Rs 14,129 crore have been released under YSR Cheyutha for the benefit of 2.39 lakh women belonging to SC, ST, BC and minority communities, with each one of them being given Rs 75,000 in the last four years. With regard to YSR EBC Nestham, 4.39 lakh women beneficiaries have been granted Rs 12,057 crore, with each one of them receiving Rs 45,000 in the past three years.

Jagan Mohan Reddy maintained that the YSR Kapu Nestham scheme has been implemented even though no mention had been made about it in the party’s 2019
manifesto.

The Chief Minister said they have generated 2.06 lakh permanent government jobs in the last four years in AP. Nearly 9.5 per cent of these jobs have gone to Kapus.

He underlined that under Direct Benefit Transfer scheme, nearly Rs 2.35 lakh crore worth welfare schemes have been implemented, with the share of Kapus in them being Rs 22,333 crore.

The CM said under non-DBT schemes, they are providing house sites, each valued at nearly Rs 5 lakh, especially in erstwhile Godavari district. So far, 2.46 lakh beneficiaries have been given house sites and title deeds.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said the previous TD government failed to provide even 10 per cent of what the YSRC government has extended, especially to Kapus.

The Chief Minister announced several sops to Nidadavole based on a request from local MLA G. Srinivasa Naidu. Accordingly, he sanctioned Rs 66 crore for a BT road from Vasishta Right Bank to Vijjeswaram and Sidhantham, benefitting 17 villages in Nidadavole and Peravali mandals. All community health centres in the area are being upgraded to 100 beds at a cost of Rs 19 crore.

The CM sanctioned a bridge to Vadaluru village, a BR Ambedkar Hall, a BC Community Hall, a Multipurpose Community Hall and a Shadikhana, in addition to development of the RTC Bus Stand at a cost of Rs 6 crore.
