TTD engineers to get promotions
The court has ordered TTD to take a decision on the contempt filed by these degree holders.
Tirupati: TTD's Service wing (Technical) has requested the engineering department for service registeration of some engineers to examine promotional avenues. TTD is looking to promote with retrospective effect from the date of qualification.
Most of the members in the promotional avenues list hold a degree from the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education, Rajasthan. This university is not recognised by the University Grants Commission.
The court has ordered TTD to take a decision on the contempt filed by these degree holders.
In the month of August, the EO had given a proceeding saying that these degrees will not be considered for promotions.
Later within a span of 14 days, the decision was reversed after IASE degree holders filed a contempt in the court which is still due.
But the original degree holders are not happy with the decision taken by TTD as they will lose their career.
An official on condition of anonymity said, "TTD has failed in filing the counter complaint. TTD officials should have filed a complaint which would take the old court judgments and the letters given by UGC asking them to not consider the university"
Those who obtained their degree in 2010 were at a loss as the then Executive Officer, I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, IAS filed a counter case in the court saying that the petitioners appear to have a degree through distance education, which is not recognised by the UGC.
All India Council for Technical Education also issued a notice to the government in 2009 about the same.
Another official from TTD said, "This is mismanagement of the establishment where they misguide the EO by hiding facts. So, the EO did not counter them to his fullest. Many Executive Officers before A.K. Singhal have denied them. Even the Andhra Pradesh government ordered TTD not to consider those certificates."
