Rs 27 lakh cash seized at Ibrahimpatnam

Hyderabad: The Returning Officer at Ibrahimpatnam seized Rs 27.35 lakh belonging to Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s Adibatla Upa Sarpanch Palle Gopal Goud on Monday evening.

Mr Gopal Goud was returning from Polepalli in Nalgonda district when his car (AP 09 ET 1135) was intercepted by a team of flying squad near Gurunanak Engineering College in Ibrahimpatnam for checking. The squad along with the Ibrahimpatnam police were working under the supervision of Ibrahimpatnam returning officer and RDO C. Amarendar.

The officials said Mr Gopal Goud claimed that the cash was meant for a land deal. The officials have handed over the cash to income-tax officials to verify the claims of Mr Gopal Goud and that he has been asked to provide the relevant documents in support of his claims. Ibrahimpatnam inspector P. Guruva Reddy confirmed the incident.
