WETA celebrates Batukamma in USA

This festival of flowers needs no introduction. Batukamma - the festival from Telangana is celebrated with much pomp and fervour all around the world. It was no different here in the USA. ‘Women’s Empowerment Telugu Association’ 'WETA' organised this festival in the heart of Silicon Valley this season. Women decked up as gracefully as the flowers they carried thronged in huge numbers to a successful event celebrated on the 10th of October from 3pm to 6pm at the San Ramon Sports Park in California. It was a riot of colors to see not just 200 women but more than 600 Telugu people gather and celebrate the festival like one big family.
The event was meticulously organised under the leadership of Smt. Jhansi Reddy, President WETA association along with her able team which comprises of the President elect Smt.Sailaja Kalluri, vice president Rekha Reddy, Secretary Smt.Anuradha Alisetty, Joint Secretary Smt.Prashanthi Kuchibotla, Media Secretary Smt Suguna Reddy, Cultural Chair Smt.Ratnamala Vanka,Regional coordinator Smt.Hyma Anumandla, Treasurer Vishwa, Joint Treasurer Yashaswini Reddy, Community service chair Jyothi Pentaparthi, CA Board of Directors Smt Lakshmi Yanamandala and Sacramento Regional coordinator Smt Pooja.
The WETA team thanked the Telugu Community of Bay Area and the local authorities for the tremendous success of the event every year.
