Sessions, debates on trending topics lined up for Mysuru Lit Fest
Prithvi Datta Chandra Shobhi and Prof. C Naganna will participate.There will be a separate session for children termed Putaani Prapancha'.
Mysuru: Forty eminent personalities from different fields will participate in the Mysuru literature festival hosted by Mysuru literary forum charitable trust and Mysuru book clubs at Windchimes in Nazarbad on Sunday.
Dr Y.V. Reddy, chairman of the 14th Finance Commission and former governor of RBI will deliver the keynote address at the festival which will have a ‘humour hour’ by Prof. Krishnegowda and Alaka Kattemane. The sessions will be on varied topics including 'Why we should wear fabric of freedom'(panellists- Kapur Chishti, Prasad Bidappa and Chandra Jain), 'Figments of imagination and bold canvases'( panellists- Prof. Chandan Gowda, Dr Mini Krishnan, Samhita Arni, Guru Prasad and Aroon Raman), 'Trails of free spirits- on wildlife' (panellists-Saad Bin Jung, Prof Priya Davidar, Dr Jean Philippe Puyravaud, Joshua Mathew and Raian Irani). There will also be discussions on 'A class apart- heritage of the royal city' in which R.G. Singh, Eric Sakellaropoulos, Michael Ludgrove and Niranjan Nikam will participate. Dr Mini Krishnan will speak on ‘translating India’.
One of the much-awaited sessions will be on ‘Where the mind is without fear’ in which the panellists include former RAW chief A.S. Dulat and Anand Arni, a former Intelligence officer.
There will also be sessions on 'Reminiscing behind closed doors' by Rinki Roy Bhattacharya, Maithili Rao, Shilpa Raj and Prof Chandan Gowda while Aroon Raman will speak on ‘The midnight murder- a tale from medieval India’.
A discussion on ‘Nirbhaya Samaja-Yaara Javabdari (Fearless society: Whose responsibility) has been organised in which Shantha Nagaraj, Dr Sudha, Kanti Joshi, Dr Prithvi Datta Chandra Shobhi and Prof. C Naganna will participate. There will be a separate session for children termed ‘Putaani Prapancha’.
