Karnataka High Court: 2 get bail in Masthigudi tragedy
The court has imposed certain conditions, which include Rs 1 lakh each as personal bond along with one surety each, while granting the bail.
Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Thursday granted bail to Kannada film Masthigudi director Nagashekar, and its stunt choreographer Raviverma, both accused in the tragic death of two actors, who died during the shooting of the film at TG Halli reservoir.
The court has imposed certain conditions, which include Rs 1 lakh each as personal bond, along with one surety each, while granting the bail.
They had approached the court after a lower court in Ramanagara rejected their bail petitions.
In a tragic turn of events, two Kannada actors - Uday and Anil died due to drowning after a stunt went horribly wrong at Tippagondanahalli Lake. The actors were filming the stunts for an upcoming film Masthigudi, which stars Duniya Vijay in the lead role.
While filming the scene, Vijay and the two actors, Anil and Uday, had jumped into the lake from a helicopter. While the lead actor swam ashore, the other two died. Later their bodies were recovered after an extensive search, which took for more than two days.
