Anantapur: Motorists can apply for licence online
The driving licenses can be applied through APSRTC, Police Training College and Meeseva Centres without any involvement of middlemen.
Anantapur: ‘Online’ registration for driving licenses has been successfully implemented in Anantapur district after being selected as a pilot project. In the view of encouraging people to prefer on line services instead of approaching the middlemen at Road Transport Authority offices, Anantapur district stands top in implementation of services of vehicle registrations through online, the pilot project of driving licences introduced recently. The issuing of driving licenses of both LLR and permanent through online was begun since last Monday under Anantapur RTA jurisdictions connecting Anantapur and Hidnupur RTA offices.
Briefing over successful implementation of driving license services, Anantapur Deputy Transport Commissioner V. Sundar told DC that about 80 persons were issued driving licenses on line and big number of LLR applications was received during last four days. The aim to avoid middle men and office without any cash transactions yielding positive results as people was reacting positive to get services very easily, he observed. The driving licenses can be applied through APSRTC, Police Training College and Meeseva Centres without any involvement of middlemen.
In addition to the existing services, the road transport department was planning to introduce all services connecting to transport will be offered through online from January next year. All other permits and fitness certificates will be provided through online services, sources said. Anantapur DTC Mr Vadde briefed that slots will be provided online for fitness certificates as the vehicle owners can reach the office at given scheduled time.
