Skeletal remains of woman found at TSMDC yard
TSMDC project officer Md Niranjan alerted the Abdullapurmet police, who rushed to the yard along with CLUES team.
Hyderabad: The skeletal remains of a woman found at a sand yard maintained by the Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation (TSMDC) on the outskirts of Abdullapurmet, Ranga Reddy district are baffling the Rachakonda police who are clueless about how long it has been there or how it got there.
On Saturday, labourers who were unloading sand at the house of one K. Srinivas Reddy in Sahebnagar noticed a skull in the sand and immediately alerted Mr Reddy, who in turn informed TSMDC officials. They also found a sari and pieces of bangles with the skeletal remains. TSMDC project officer Md Niranjan alerted the Abdullapurmet police, who rushed to the yard along with CLUES team.
It is too early to confirm how the body reached the yard, but the police suspects the body could have been there for several months. "Sand was shifted to the yard from Kothapally in Midgil mandal of Mahbubnagar about nine months ago. Sand from Kaleshwaram is also dumped here," said the Abdullapurmet inspector S. Devender.
The remains were sent for forensic analysis. Two police teams were sent to Mahbubnagar district and Kaleshwaram for further investigations.
In another incident, the body of a 65-year-old woman identified as Pagadala Bharathi was found in a decomposed state in Pedda Cheruvu at Meerpet on Sunday. The locals who found the body floating on the lake alerted the police. Police said her daughters sent the woman to an old age home. Upset over this, she jumped into the lake hours after leaving the old age home. Meerpet police registered a case of suspicious death.
