Campaign to register new voters from colleges in Dakshina Kannada

The district administration aims to add more than 25,000 new voters through this campaign

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district administration will take up a campaign in colleges to add new voters from the campuses to the electoral list. A special revision campaign of the electoral roll is underway in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. K V Rajendra who held a meeting asked all the educational institutions to prepare the list of students aged 18 years who have not yet registered their name in the voter list.

“The principals of all the colleges should supervise this. They should ensure the name of all students who have completed 18 years is registered online. One-day training would be provided to the principals in connection to this on December 23,” the Deputy Commissioner said.

The district administration aims to add more than 25,000 new voters through this campaign.

The DC has also appointed nodal officers to monitor the entire process.

“All the heads of colleges should compulsorily participate in the training on December 23. The names of the eligible students whose names are not in the voter list should be submitted to the respective nodal officers,” he added.
