Seethakka Urges Officials to Ensure Uninterrupted Summer Water Supply in Villages

Seethakka stresses the need for proactive measures to secure water availability for villages during the summer.

Hyderabad: Women and child welfare minister D. Anasuya (Dr Seethakka) on Friday asked officials to take steps from now to ensure that there is regular supply of water in villages in the summer.

At a review meeting with officials on Mission Bhagiratha, she asked engineers to regularly monitor the water supply and said there should not be any inconvenience to villagers. She asked them to make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Sammakka-Saralamma jatara’ in Medaram in February second week.

The minister said a meeting would be convened with departments concerned on measures to be taken for the successful conduct of the festival.

“Whenever water levels dip in reservoirs and lakes, officials must bring it to the notice of irrigation department,” she said. Secretary of the rural water supply department Smita Sabharwal was present.
